Hi, I’m Lucy Rogerson — a technical game developer working at the intersection of engineering and gameplay systems.
For me, technical systems and creative expression aren’t opposites — they’re two halves of the same craft. Whether I’m debugging a pipeline, supporting motion capture sessions, or designing gameplay systems, I enjoy solving the technical puzzles that help creative ideas become playable experiences.
I currently work in build and development infrastructure supporting VR game teams, maintaining CI pipelines and improving development workflows through automation and tooling. Working within production pipelines has given me a strong understanding of how the different disciplines of game development connect. I also worked as a Lead Motion Capture & VR Technician at Sandbox VR, operating Vicon mocap systems and troubleshooting live experiences in fast-paced environments.
My background in game design includes developing and implementing gameplay systems in Unreal Engine across multiple academic and collaborative projects, often working in technical design roles that bridge mechanics, scripting, and player experience. Two of these projects were showcased at Develop:Brighton (2024 and 2025).
I hold a Master’s degree in Game Design (Distinction) and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
